Women's Health Education

Pap Smear & Cervical Cancer Screening

A Pap test screens for abnormal cervical cells that could become cancerous. Early detection saves lives.

Ages 21–29:

Pap smear every 3 years

Ages 30–65:

Pap + HPV co-test every 5 years OR Pap every 3 years

Pap smears should not be painful. We take care to make the exam comfortable.

Mammogram Guidelines

Mammograms detect breast cancer early — often before symptoms appear. We coordinate referrals and follow-up.

Standard:

Annual mammograms starting at age 40

High Risk:

Women with family history may start earlier

We provide clinical breast exams and coordinate all imaging referrals.

STI Screening for Women

Confidential, judgment-free STI testing based on CDC guidelines.

Yearly chlamydia/gonorrhea for sexually active women under 25
Screening with new partners or unprotected sex
HIV screening for all adults at least once
Hepatitis panel when indicated

Menstrual Disorders

What's normal vs. abnormal? If your period affects daily life, it's worth evaluating.

Cycles shorter than 21 or longer than 35 days
Bleeding lasting more than 7 days
Soaking through a pad/tampon every 1-2 hours
Severe cramps that don't respond to OTC meds
Spotting between periods or after sex

Sexual Health: Libido & Inorgasmia

Low desire, difficulty with orgasm, and pain during intercourse are common and treatable.

We evaluate potential causes:

Hormone imbalances
Pelvic floor dysfunction
Medication side effects
Thyroid/metabolic issues
Emotional or relational factors

Treatment plans are compassionate, personalized, and medically appropriate.

When to See a Women's Health Provider
